현재 한국 음악계에서 가장 독보적인 첼리스트 심준호는 2010년 제40회 쥬네스 뮤지컬 국제 콩쿠르에서 심사위원장인 나탈리아 구트만으로부터 “머리는 차갑게, 가슴은 뜨겁게 연주하는 진정한 음악가”라는 극찬을 받으며 한국인 최초, 심사위원 만장일치 우승을 차지했다. 금호영재콘서트를 시작으로 중앙음악콩쿠르 우승, 2012년 안토니오 야니그로 국제 첼로 콩쿠르 2위에 입상함으로써 음악적 재능을 인정받았다. 

서울시향, KBS교향악단, 성남시향, 수원시향, 인천시향, 독일 베를린 융에 필하모닉, 베오그라드 RTS 방송교향악단, 노르웨이 방송교향악단, 자그레브 필하모닉 등 국내외 유수의 오케스트라와 협연했고, 서울시향의 수석 첼리스트를 역임했다. 독일 에센 폴크방 국립음대에서 조영창을, 노르웨이 국립음악원에서 트룰스 뫼르크와 지안 왕을 사사했다. 칼라치 스트링 콰르텟, 클럽M의 멤버로도 활동하고 있으며 세계적인 음반 레이블 소니 클래식을 통해 발매된 피아니스트 박종해와의 <Beethoven & Rachmaninoff> 음반은 애호가들과 평단의 큰 호평을 받았다. 세계 최고의 현 브랜드 라센 스트링스 한국인 아티스트 최초로 선정되었으며 현재 1710년도 ‘Carlo Ruggeri’에 의해 제작된 ‘Vaska’ 악기를 사용 중이다.

Upon matriculating and graduating Yewon School and Seoul Arts High School as a valedictorian, he started to gain prominence for his exceptional talent as a musician. Joon Ho Shim was recognized for his potential as a soloist after his outstanding performance at the Kumho Prodigy Concert funded by the Kumho Cultural Foundation and in other prestigious competitions including the 32nd Jung-Ang Competition held in 2006. He won second place at the 2012 Antonio Janigro Internation Cello Competition and was given the honour of winning the 2010 Jeunesses Musicales International Music Competition with a unanimous majoriry – an unprecedented case for a Korean musician.
 
He performed with Seoul Philharmonic, Seongnam Philharmonic, Suwon Philharmonic, Incheon Philharmonic, Gwangju Symphony and Bucheon Philharmonic. He also continued performing with Deutsche Junge Sinfonie Berlin, Belgrade RTS Orchestra, Norwegian Radio Orchestra, while being invited to perform as a soloist at the Fagerborg Music Festival (Norway), Oudewater Music Festival (Netherland), Szeged Music Festival (Hungary) 2014/2015, Bergen Music Festival and many others.
 
After studying under Young-Chang Cho at Essen Folkwang Musikhochschule, he also completed his Artist Diploma as he studied under Truls Mork, the maestro of contemporary music, at the Norwegian State Academy of Music. His graduation recital was given the prestige of being nationally broadcasted. He is currently performing actively as a member of ECMA (European Chamber Music Academy) around Europe, while also participating as a member of Kallaci String Quartet.
