한문경 Moon Kyung Hahn (프로필 사진작가 Changsu Jang)

뉴욕타임즈에서 마림바의 음색을 아름답고 담백하게 채색했다고 호평을 받은 한문경은 예원학교, 서울예고 시절 박동욱을 사사, 줄리어드 음악원에서 Roland Kohloff, Joseph Pereira를 사사하며 학사졸업, 이후 파리국립음악원(CRR de Paris)에서 Eric Sammut의 사사로 마림바과 최고연주자과정을 졸업하였으며 이후 다시 뉴욕으로 돌아가 줄리어드 음악원에서 Daniel Druckman, Gordon Gottlieb을 사사하며 석사과정 졸업하였다.

만 10세에 당시 우리나라 타악연주자로는 최연소로 독주회를 개최하였고, 금호아트홀의 영재, 영아티스트, 라이징스타 콘서트 등 여러차례 성공적인 연주회를 가졌다. 중학생 시절 서울시향과의 협연무대를 시작으로 이후 Talich Chamber Orchestra, Tapiola Sinfonietta, Sinfonia Varsovia, 코리안챔버오케스트라, 국립국악관현악단, 줄리어드 오케스트라와 호흡을 맞추었다. 2023년 예술의전당 교향악축제에서 창원시향의 협연자로 관객들을 만났으며, 2016년 영국 Royal Philharmonic Orchestra와 Grzegorz Nowak의 지휘로 류재준의 마림바 협주곡을 녹음, 앨범을 발매하였고, 그의 지휘 아래 폴란드 바르샤바에서 열린 La Folle Journée 페스티벌에 초청되어 Sinfonia Varsovia와 협연한 바 있다.

12세 어린 나이에 제1회 일본 마림바 콩쿨에서 심사위원 만장일치로 그랑프리를 수상하였으며 이후 파리 마림바 콩쿨 우승, 월드 마림바 컴피티션 영탈렌트 상, 미국 MTNA 컴피티션 미 전역 1위 및 야마하 특별상, 폴란드 현대음악 실내악 국제콩쿨에서 2위 및 최고해석상을 수상하였다. 중국 탕공음악제, 파리 퍼큐매니아, 폴란드 퍼커션뮤직페스티벌, 줄리어드 챔버뮤직페스티벌, 뉴욕 포커스 현대음악제, 뉴욕시티전자음악제(NYCEMF) 등 다양한 실내악 및 오케스트라 페스티벌에 초대되어 연주하였으며, 국내 대표 음악제인 통영국제음악제, 서울스프링실내악축제, 서울국제컴퓨터음악제, 대관령국제음악제 등에 초청받아 활동하고 있다. 2011년 발매된 Eric Sammut의 앨범 'Sailing in Seoul'에 참여하였으며, 한국의 전통악기 피리주자 가민과의 듀오앨범 ‘Juxtaposition’(2008)을 제작하는 등 적극적으로 새로운 시도를 하며 타악기 음악세계 영역의 적용범위를 높이려하는 그 노력이 높이 평가되어 2008년도 한국예술평론가협의회 선정 '올해의 주목할 예술가'로 선정된 바 있다.

어린시절 사랑의문화봉사단의 일원으로 고아원, 양로원, 병원등에서 연주를 해왔던 한문경은 2010년 퍼커셔니스트 김은혜와 타악듀오 '모아티에’(moitié=half)를 창단해 매년 다양한 프로그램을 선보이고 있으며 수익금의 절반을 기부하는 연주활동을 이어가고 있다. 한문경은 타악듀오 모아티에 외에도 Ensemble TIMF 단원으로 활동하고 있으며, 톈진 줄리어드 음악원(Tianjin Juilliard School)에서 교수로 재직하며 후학 양성에 힘쓰고 있다.


June Moon Kyung Hahn, who has been praised by The New York Times for “drawing beautiful, clean colors in an extended, cadenza-like solo….,” studied at Yewon Arts School and Seoul Arts High School. During her time at Seoul Arts High School, she studied under Dong-wook Park, and then graduated with a bachelor's degree after studying under Roland Kohloff and Joseph Pereira at The Juilliard School. She further pursued her studies at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Paris (CRR de Paris) under Eric Sammut, completing the Diplôme de Concertiste for marimba.

At the young age of 10, she held a solo concert, becoming the youngest percussionist in Korea to do so at that time. She has had numerous successful performances, including the Kumho Art Hall's Prodigy Concert, Young Artist Concert, and Rising Star concerts. Starting with a collaboration with the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, she went on to perform with various orchestras such as the Talich Chamber Orchestra, Tapiola Sinfonietta, Sinfonia Varsovia, Korean Chamber Orchestra, National Gugak Center Orchestra, and The Juilliard Orchestra. In 2023, she appeared as a soloist with the Changwon Philharmonic Orchestra in the Seoul Arts Center’s Orchestra Festival in June. In 2016, under the baton of Grzegorz Nowak, she recorded Ryu Jeajoon's marimba concerto with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and released an album. She was also invited to perform with the Sinfonia Varsovia at the La Folle Journée festival in Warsaw, Poland.

At the age of 12, she won the Grand Prix from the judges at the 1st Japan Marimba Competition. Subsequently, she won the Paris Marimba Competition, the World Marimba Competition's Young Talent Award, first place national Winner at the US MTNA Competition with the Yamaha Special Prize. She also won second place and the Best Interpretation Award at the Poland Contemporary Music Chamber Competition.

She has been invited to perform at various chamber music and orchestra festivals such as the Tang Gong Music Festival in China, Paris Percumania, the Poland Percussion Music Festival, The Juilliard Chamber Music Festival, New York Focus Festival, and New York City Electroacoustic Music Festival. She has also been actively involved in music festivals in Korea such as the Tongyeong International Music Festival, Seoul International Music Festival, Seoul Spring Chamber Music Festival, and Seoul International Computer Music Festival.

June Hahn, who was a member of the Loving Culture Volunteer Group in her youth, has been performing at orphanages, nursing homes, hospitals, etc. Since founding the percussion duo "Moitié" (meaning "half" in French) with percussionist Eunhye Kim in 2010, she has been presenting various programs annually and continues to engage in performance activities donating half of their earning. In addition to the Percussion Duo Moitié, Ms. Hahn is also active as a member of Ensemble TIMF, Ensemble OPUS and serves as a professor at the Tianjin Juilliard School, where she teaches the Graduate Studies, and the Pre-College program.
